Eritrea: The First Country to “Wrestle COVID-19 to the Ground”

235 0

22 May 2020 – (AO) The invisible COVID couldn’t get a chance in this fiercely battling country. Beaten to its own game, the World Health Organisation (WHO) thinks that the virus has left the country for good.

Now, the developed countries are “quietly” hailing the self-reliance Eritrea as the only country in the world successfully “wrestled” the virus to the ground, scoring 100 per cent by discharging 39 COVID patients out of 39.

No new positive test case has been reported in the country since April 19.

The USA with its hugely significant obese population has recovered fewer patients in percentage (23%) and ranked alongside Africans who have poor health infrastructure (see below).

Other nations scored above 90 per cent in recovery, such as China, where the invisible enemy took off in December.

Switzerland, Austria, South Korea, Australia, Thailand, New Zealand, Hong Kong and Taiwan belong to this category.

Germany, which has a heavy caseload of the virus with 178,568 cases, has the best recovery rate among the worst-hit nations in Europe.

The country cured and discharged 158,000 of the afflicted, scoring 88 per cent.

Spain scored 70 per cent and Italy 58.

The United States, which bears the most considerable burden of the disease with 1,595,081, has been able to discharge 370,971, just 23 per cent.

Africa’s recovery rate is 40 per cent of the 102,323, while Europe has 45 per cent.
