BREAKING: Zimbabwe President ED Mnangagwa Fires his Deputy Minister Energy Mutodi

Zimbabwe President H.E Emmerson Mnangagwa has fired the Deputy Minister for Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services, Hon Energy Mutodi with immediate effect.

The statement of the sacking was signed by Permanent Secretary, Presidential Communications in the Office of the President and Cabinet, R Chikowore and was issued on Wednesday 20 May 2020.

“The Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr MJM Sibanda, has announced the termination of employment by His Excellency the President, Cde E.D Mnangagwa, of Dr Energy Mutodi as Deputy Minister of Government in the Ministry of Information, Publicity and Broadcasting Services…” read part of the statement.

The Controversial Deputy Minister is a Member of Parliament for Goromonzi West under the ruling Zanu pf party.

Reasons of the sacking were not listed in the brief letter which was confirmed in a tweet by the Ministry of Information.

However the Hon Member of Parliament was known for publicly attacking anyone he deem an enemy using his twitter handle, including other Ministers in the Cabinet of Zimbabwe.

His most recent and last attack was when he attacked three Opposition Mdc Alliance female members who were allegedly abducted following a short demo and are currently receiving medication.

The tweet which was later pulled down read:

“Details emerge MDC youths Joana Mamombe, Netsai Marova & Cecilia Chimbiri went out for a romantic night to Bindura with their lovers who are artisanal miners. They parked their car at a police station for safety but tragedy struck when they demanded foreign currency for services.”

The Member of Parliament’s Twitter handle got over 43.7k followers.
